There was absolutely excuse for the condition of this property and disgusting filthy room. IF we had had the money we NEVER would have stayed. Shame on you Red Roof manager. My pictures will be submitted to Red Roof Headquarters as well as Lancaster Board of Health, Board of Building Inspecter and BBB. ANYONE going down those back stairs could have gotten seriously hurt. Make it better! No excuses!

I went to the Red Roof Inn site online and entered my info…I was four people, two adults two children ages three and 4…I asked for a room with two queen size beds..which is what I thought I was getting after entering all the info along with the dates I was staying. I didn’t bother to check after the room was confirmed because I expected to receive the room I requested since I entered all the info the site requested and required…stupid me! I got to the hotel and was given a room with a king size bed. I was told by the desk clerk that that was the information I had entered. He couldn’t even change the room because they were packed so I was stuck with what I got. The room was horrendous, the pillows were non existent, the lights kept shutting off because another room must have been on the breaker and if there were too many lights on the breaker shut off. I was forced to only turn one light on at a time even though it was not my room causing the problem. I was offered a roll away bed to compensate for the mistake in the booking only to be charged an extra $15 a night. My 4yr old son did not want to sleep on it so he slept in the bed with us and his sister. Good thing we were only there two nights. I expected the hotel to offer the roll away bed at no charge and to bring extra pillows…of course neither of those things happened. We couldn’t wait to leave and I will never book at a Red Roof again.

This hotel is disgusting! We got to our room and went to wash our hands in the sink…it immediately was clogged and backwashing some kind of food. We called the front desk and it was handled pretty quickly. There was hair in the drain of the shower, dust covering light fixtures and overall just a grimy feel to the room. My kids feet were black within 30 mins of running around the room. I was really disturbed by all of these things! When staying at a hotel, it was very unsettling to not feel like you were in a clean space.

The receptionist at check in was rude. He also charged my credit card 1.50 and didn’t say what it was for. I have been to the red roof once before and it was a good experience. This time however, was not.

We did not stay! We were in the process of checking in, having made and secured with a bank card, when my husband informed the woman at the desk that we would require a first floor room due to my back disability and the fact that I could not safely utilize steps. We were then informed we would have to pay extra each night we stayed. That the rooms were more expensive on the ground level. Same rooms, 1st floor vs 2nd floor. Because of my disability we would be forced to pay extra so we decided not to stay for my safety! We were charged for the room just the same. We want the charge refunded to us immediately. This is discrimination since I physically had no choice.

I had made a reservation from an online reservation site. Using our debit card to lock in. Arrived on Friday morning" 6 21 19. We were early but that wasn’t the problem. My husband explained we needed a first floor room due to no elevators and I’m handicapped. They immediately started to add extra fees to our bill. My husband was furious that we were being charged per night for a medically necessary ground floor room and chose to leave. We went to another motel and received an immediate 1st floor room at the same rate as the other floors. On Saturday, 6 22 19 I was checking the bank statement and found a $109 plus charge on our statement. We went back to the Red Roof where I explained to the gentleman at the counter we had been charged and it needed a credit to remove. He went and got another man that refused stating we were a no show and responsible to pay. I told him we did show, that I was right there in his office when they started making changes to the amount I was told. He argued again we were a no show and refused to remove the amount. I advised him I would put a stop payment on it with our bank and his response was to try! There are security cameras there to verify we were there and hopefully audio recording as well. He was rude which in turn made me angry. I’ve endurd 7 spinal surgeries and a year and a half in a wheelchair. I struggled hard to get out of that chair but still can’t safely handle stairs. This was discrimination to me.
