"Beautiful historic hotel."
Overall Score4.0/ 5
Crowne Plaza Hamilton is a beautiful historic hotel with old world charm, located in the heart of downtown DC. Walking distance to Metro and White House. Rooms are modern and updated with cityscape artwork. The hotel has a full service restaurant and bar with seasonal outdoor seating as well as a full service Starbucks. Plenty of meeting and banquet space on the lower level away from the lobby. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Great hotel for all groups.

"Disappointed"
Overall Score2.0/ 5
I booked this room for our driver that was transporting our group by charter bus to an event in DC. By law he had to rest while we were at our event. I told the reservationist before I booked the room that we had to have parking for a charter bus and she assured me that there was parking on site to accommodate our bus not once, but twice during our conversation. So I booked the room. When I submitted the hotel information to our charter company and they looked into the hotel information they found that there was indeed NO parking for a bus. I had to pre pay for the room. I have been in conversation with hotel management on two different occasions by phone and several attempts by email to get a refund to no avail. I had to let the charter company book a room for our driver directly and charge us for it. so we ended up paying twice for a hotel room. I'm very disappointed with The Hamilton Hotel and their lack of response.

"Watch out for the hidden charges."
Overall Score3.0/ 5
This is a nice hotel in DC, it is close to everything you expect to see in DC and the public transportation is awesome. The rooms are nice and tidy, the only problem I had is that you are charged daily fees that aren't mentioned anywhere before I made my reservation, so due to the amount of days I was staying I had to put an extra $200.

"One night stay meh."
Overall Score3.0/ 5
We stayed at this hotel one night and had two rooms for our family of 5. It is located near the theater district and within walking distance of the mall. The lobby is very bright and has lots of seating. The elevators are really small, (my family and luggage took up a whole one and it was tight) but there are about five of them so you don't wait too long. Both rooms were clean and comfortable and the bathrooms updated and very clean. The staff were all very friendly. We had a very nice lunch in the adjoining restaurant. There are two items to mention and the reasons I gave The Hamilton three stars rather than 4. First, we asked for adjoining rooms, but while the numbers, on paper, looked like they were next to each other (339 and 341), in reality, when we got upstairs, there was a room in between the two because of the layout at the end of the hallway. The front desk kept trying to convince me that the rooms were next to each other, with a sort of foyer, but there was no convincing them that they were wrong. The rooms did not share a wall or door or anything else. 339 was further down the hall, so we had to split up to stay with our children. I didn't push the issue since it was easily solved, but had it been for more than one night I would have insisted on them relocating us. The second issue was very strange. It took at least 7 minutes for the hot water to make it to our shower. I'm not quite sure why, but I wound up just wasting water all that time until it finally did start to warm up. Our other room did not have the same problem. There was a "resort fee" $28 per room and it was $59 for overnight parking. Sadly, there is a homeless encampment in the park right next door to the hotel, so "Park View" comes with a view of the encampment. We might stay there again, but I suspect I could find a better deal elsewhere.

"Over Promise, Under Deliver."
Overall Score1.0/ 5
This is my second submission, since I had reserved to rooms during our stay. This hotel needs major help! From the staff at the front desk, to your housekeeping, to the maintenance department. I have never been treated so horrible during a stay with family/friends. The front desk could not get me in our rooms on time as promised. We had a late check in to our rooms because they were not ready for our stay. I reserved and prepaid for those rooms in mid January. The front desk had no problem asking for my CC upfront to charge for incidentals and then proceeded to inform us we would have to wait an additional hour to even get checked into our rooms! The began a horrible weekend, as the late check in disrupted reservations at other businesses we had nearby, which was the whole reason we stayed at this hotel to be close and on time. So we arrived late for our other obligations and my friends/family were very disappointed because of this delay. Once we checked into our rooms and weee provided room keys, two of the four elevators were broken and unusable. So several families had to wait a long time just to use the elevators. Opened the door to our room to find the main light in the hallway of our room did not work when we turned the light switch to the On position. All of the countertops from the desk, to the TV dresser and the nightstands were filthy or smeared with spray of cleaner that had a haze with dust all over them. The walls were covered in dust, dirt and grime. Then we went to adjust the heating source (thermostat) to find the filter cover below the thermostat hanging wide open and it was honestly the most disgusting thing you can imagine. It was submerged with bacteria, hair, dust fibers, you name it that then blew throughout the room. We all woke up the following morning with headaches, stuffy nose, swollen eyes like we all had an allergen attack. I have documented pictures of all this for proof during our stay. So during checkout, I proceeded to relay this information and share the photos with the front desk supervisor. He apologized for any inconvenience and told me the room charges were taken care of and we would not owe a balance due to the negligence of the hospitality during our stay. I have checked my billing just now and nothing has been removed. The only charges removed were for our deposit on the incidentals. Please advise the next steps to correct this action. I’m placing a call to the hotel, as a follow up to my conversation with the front desk supervisor since nothing has happened. I would like someone from executive management to reach out to me in regard of this unfortunate situation that took place. [email protected] 240 920 3652.
