While this was our family's first stay at the Hyatt House, it will not be the last. The room was exactly as described and it was more like two rooms, given the queen bed and the convertible couch in the common area. We brought our son to college in Waltham and the accommodations could not have been closer. The room was clean, modern and had all the amenities we needed, including a full sized refrigerator. Cleanliness and social distancing were the rules of the day and we felt comfortable, well treated, all contributing to an outstanding stay. Highly recommended!

I called a 3rd party reservation party first for my trip, but also contacted Hyatt directly. I finalized my reservation with Hyatt personnel. On the day of my departure, I was contacted by Hyatt House/Boston within 25 minutes of leaving my house (about 11:05 A.M.) for the airport. I was told that my reservation was going to be denied because I wasn't an "essential service worker". No one had spoken to me about this until that moment. Not a great announcement to hear when you're traveling for your mother's funeral because she just died because of contracting the COVID virus and you were about to step into a cab at 11:30 for the airport and the 3000 mile trip to Boston. After explaining the situation, the manager was contacted and relented. So I kept my reservation. There really isn't an excuse for this lack of professionalism by the Hyatt office. COVID has been with us for long enough for Hyatt to know what their mandates and policies are for Massachusetts. When you're traveling from the west coast, like I was, it is a reasonable expectation that the departments and personnel involved are trained for the current allowable reservation conditions. The room wasn't well vacuumed and had small white blobs of embedded stuff in a couple of places. There was substantial remodeling in progress that I wasn't informed about and from my many years in construction I thought it was from construction products. My room was close to the rooms being remodeled. So I was located in one the dusty parts of the hotel. I didn't ask for any room service because it was obvious that there really wasn't any available. The only reason I would stay at a Hyatt Hotel after this is because the staff and manager at Hyatt House Boston were always super helpful and considerate. My rating would have been lower except for them. Kudos to them for the help that they gave me. Most Sincerely, RPR.

The Hyatt House Boston/Waltham was a perfect location for us. It was located halfway between the two places we needed to go. It was very comfortable for the five of us. The breakfast was superb. The staff was very helpful. We would stay here again if return to Boston.
